Soups

I decided to shoot a variety of different soups as they seem to me something that can look elegant and can be garnished to give more of a professional style. Also, depending on the soup a variety of different props can be used to give a sense of the occasion and who would be consuming the soup.

I started off with these shots a simple setup to get a sense of what I was shooting and what I could do with the setups to enhance the shot.

I think the background of this shot is better than the first. The foreground though is not as successful. The camera angle could perhaps be higher to get more of the soup in frame and the spoon positioned closer to the bowl.

With this image below I was trying to create a sense of a warm winter soup setting. The window lighting works well but the soup just doesn't look that appetising.

This image I shot at a later stage than the previous shoots. I really wanted to focus on the garnish on the surface so that is why it is at such a close crop. I didn't feel to need for any additional props for this shot, and I think it works well just as a close up of the soup.
